  4. I blame New York State for pulling me from my mother and not providing a decent education. This place only made me more angry and deep dislike for white people sorry but they were not nice to me and show favor to other white girls. However I am grateful for the Kindness that some of the black staff gave me and because of them my life was better. My memories of this horrible place was watching young women turn sixteen and be ship off to Bedford women prison. Kids today do not stand a chance with state run systems.

  5. I was 13 years old when I arrived at Cottage E from queens Ny. I felt home sick for awhile! Cottage E was strict, but, MA BENNET WAS TOUGH, but, kind, and I was never abused… I often think of my experience there. In those days, we attended School 1/2 a day and worked in the warehouse the other half… we learned a lot, mostly how to be independent and take care of ourselves. All staff were wonderful. I appreciate all and never forget the staff 👩🏻💯❤️❤️❤️
